Pathway, the industry leading veterinary management group serving pets and their parents at more than 400 locations throughout the U.S., and THRIVE a part of the Pathway family of companiesannounced the rollout of a new incentive program for doctors.

The industry-first program called the Veterinarian Incentive Plan allows current doctors and those who become a part of the Pathway or THRIVE team to elect to participate in the new bonus structure, which is based on tenure and company performance.

General practice veterinarians can earn up to $225,000, while specialty or emergency doctors can earn up to $450,000. One third of the total VIP award is based on each doctor’s tenure and the other two thirds is based on company performance.

The program is eligible for current and new doctors who provide veterinary care at Pathway or THRIVE veterinary hospital locations, and includes general practice, specialty and emergency doctors. This includes both part-time and full-time doctors.

The VIP program is 100 percent voluntary, and to be fully vested, the doctor needs five consecutive years of employment with Pathway or THRIVE while participating in the program. Residents are also eligible for the VIP program, but must wait until their third year of residency to register

“This is an exciting, first-ever industry benefit, which we are truly proud to unveil here at Pathway,” said Stephen Hadley, DVM and CEO of Pathway Vet Alliance. At Pathway, we believe providing the best possible care for pets starts with taking the best possible care of our people, which includes ensuring they are healthy physically, mentally and financially, while providing a place for doctors to have a thriving career.”

The VIP program adds to Pathway’s existing portfolio of industry leading benefits, which include eight weeks paid parental leave, tuition-free education opportunities, a veterinary specific employee assistance program, family forming support like discounts on in vitro fertilization, long-term care support for children, adults and pets, and much more.

The Veterinary Incentive Program officially begins on April 1, but eligible doctors will begin receiving paperwork on March 15.
