In March 2020, Wadsworth opened as THRIVE’s first clinic in Ohio, situated just 45 minutes south of Cleveland! Located inside Petco, THRIVE Wadsworth proudly serves the pets of the Akron, Medina, and Wadsworth communities. Wadsworth is a great place to work because of how caring the team is with every patient, trying to make each visit as special as possible for the pet and pet owner alike.
Since opening their front doors, Wadsworth has served pets and pet parents throughout the pandemic, including a cat that presented an interesting case! Dr. Austin Clark, DVM shares this memorable pet patient.
“Probably one of the coolest cases I have seen since I started working at THRIVE was when we extracted a swallowed sewing needle that was embedded in a cat’s soft palate. The case was intense but super rewarding once we successfully removed the foreign body from its mouth. I also love that this case was a perfect example of our team’s “all hands on deck” approach, as everyone on the team got to be involved in the process.”

In addition, Dr. Clark offers his perspective of working at THRIVE:
“What I love about working at THRIVE is there is a great support team, the company encourages a balance of work and family time, and I feel valued and respected by the management.”
Other integral members of the THRIVE team include Jessica M, RVT, who works alongside the entire THRIVE Wadworth team. She personifies the THRIVE mission of bringing quality veterinary care at unprecedented value to all pets and shares Dr. Clark’s sentiment of support being fundamental to the THRIVE team experience.
“With joining THRIVE and helping start a new market in Ohio, there came a lot of challenges, but our THRIVE team never felt alone. With only two locations currently in the Cleveland area, we still feel as if we are a part of a larger THRIVE team. It’s truly amazing how we can all come together across the nation and still support each other in the same mission – which is to help our furry friends and their owners during a time of need.”
